You will be able to view your sent, received and saved cards within ‘My Account’ and will be able to access them for as long as your Purple Hoot membership remains active.


You don't need anything special to fully enjoy the Purple Hoot experience, apart from the latest standard version of Adobe flash [or a minimum of V9.0]

1) Basic Membership is Free - allowing you to create cards or invites and also to save Purple Hoot cards you have received

2) Premium Membership currently costs only GBP £3.99/USD $6.49 for a three month subscription - during which time you can send as many cards as you wish.

From time to time, Purple Hoot will offer a Free Trial period, other promotions or shorter subscription periods

Why do you charge when some eCard sites are free?

We understand some eCard sites are totally free, however, whilst sometimes we do offer a range of cards which you can send for free, we are committed to providing you with an enhanced and clutter free experience on Purple Hoot.

As such the subscription fee helps us to continue developing the site and to offer a wide choice of quality cards which are regularly updated - similar to which you would find in the shops.

We hope you agree that Purple Hoot is different to all the other eCard sites, and offers a more exciting and smooth experience.

We think our cards look great as they are, and we don't want to put any advertising on them!

Look through the wide range of cards available by choosing the appropriate category in the ‘Occasions’ list, then simply clicking on the thumbnail image of a card you like.

The card will then appear in full size so you can see how it looks - at this point you can either click 'next' and personalize the card or click 'back' and select another.

We will continually be adding new cards to the range, both in the run up to specific events such as Christmas and Mothers Day as well as for everyday birthdays and other occasions, from ‘Congratulations on Passing your Driving Test’, ‘Good Luck in your Interview’ to ‘Get Well Soon’ and ‘Engagement’ cards.


Purple Hoot will only email you with information directly related to your use of the Purple Hoot service such as newsletters and reminders

Purple Hoot does not disclose your personal data to any third party

How do I write on the card?

Click on the text tab on the right, then click on the area in the card where you would like to start writing. You then simply start typing your message – you also have the option to change the font, size, colour, angle and position of the text

How do I use Paint?

Click on the ‘Paint’ tab, then choose either the ‘paintbrush’ or ‘spray can’ and start ‘painting’ on the card - you then have the option to change the size, angle, colour or position of the paint creation

How do I add Stickers?

Click on the ‘Stickers’ tab and select from the range of stickers available, then simply click & drag onto the card – you then have the option to change the size, angle or position of the sticker

How do I add Faces?

Click on the ‘Faces’ tab and select from the range of face parts available, then simply click & drag onto the card – you then have the option to change the size, angle or position of the face

How do I add a Photo?

a) You can add a photo to the front cover of a blank card by clicking on the ‘Create a Photo Card’ button then upload from your images – once the photo has been uploaded you can resize, rotate and reposition

b) You can add photos to the inside of any of the cards or the envelope by clicking the ‘Upload Photo’ button at the appropriate stage in the Personalization section – once the photo has been uploaded you can resize, rotate and reposition

What does the ‘Select’ button do?

If you want to ‘pick up’ an item which you have previously created on the card, ie, a sticker, some text or paintwork, simply click the ‘Select’ button and then click on the item which will then allow you to edit it...click the ‘Select’ button again to deactivate

How do I Save?

Simply click on the ‘Save’ button at any point during the personalization process – remember to log in.

How can I Edit what I have done?

You can Edit your card at any point during the personalization process or if you have previously saved it simply click on ‘My Card History’ then on ‘My Saved Cards’ and then finally on the card you wish to edit in order to open it – you can then edit as normal

How do I change the Color of the envelope?

Click on the choice of envelope colour from the range available

What does ‘PREVIEW’ mean?

Once you have finished creating your card, you can preview how it will appear to the person who you intend to send it to, allowing you to make any further changes you may want


Your Purple Hoot Premium Membership commences the day you subscribe and lasts for the period stated

If you subscribe and are offered a free trial period using a debit card, please note that banks treat debit card transactions differently from those using credit cards. Your debit card will be authorized for the payment on the date that you subscribe for the free trial. Purple Hoot will NOT charge you until your free trial expires, but your bank may temporarily treat this authorization like a purchase, holding the authorized amount for 3 days before releasing it back into your account.

Your Membership will be automatically renewed for the same period at the same price when your existing membership is about to lapse and charged to your original card

Subscribers can cancel this automatic renewal by emailing Support@PurpleHoot.com at least 7 days prior to the renewal date - If your email is not acknowledged within 72 hours please resend and cc. Debbie@PurpleHoot.com, NB. unless your email is acknowledged with a message back from PurpleHoot it will not be viewed as having been sent by you and your renewal will be processed accordingly


How do I schedule delivery for a day in the future?
You can send the card for immediate delivery – or alternatively click a future date on the calendar which appears in the ‘Sending

How do I schedule reminders?

How do I import email addresses into the Address Book?
When you arrive at the Sending Options Page, simply click the Address Book and choose which email file you wish to access, login and then choose the email addres(es) you need

How do I send to a group?
You can send the same card to up to 50 people at any one time – simply add up to 50 separate emails into the recipient field

How do I know if my card was received successfully?
You can choose to receive an email notification of when the card has been viewed by the recipient

How do I send/resend
Once you have entered all the information in terms of who you want to send the card to and when, simply click on the Send button
If you want to use the card again and send to someone else, with some editing, simply go to your Sent Cards, find the card you want and click on the ‘Edit & Resend’ button

When a recipient receives a card from Purple Hoot, it says they can Save the card for free – what does this mean?
In the real world many of us like to keep cards we receive and these are no different – simply click on the ‘save for free link and either login to your PurpleHoot.com account or register for free


1) change personal details and settings – name, address, email address.

2) view or edit cards which you have sent, saved or received

3) view your current membership status
